I do not think that it's a good product. It looks like a Dremel tool with a flexible system. I recommend Fein Multimaster. It is a little more, I think it is a complete, can be used for many things, not only the elimination of grout.

No, but I do not say to use sand in the mortar, it is not certain that your sand bed.

I had a great deal lately to remove grout. There are two ways to go, you can.

The first is the most expensive and uses a Roto-Zip with a little thin. There is grout too fast, but it is expensive to buy.

The second is a tool for removing grout to buy Lowe's or Home Depot. The tool is an inexpensive and easy to remove the mortar. It does not cost much. Find in the Department of tiles. I think mine cost less than $ 5.
